Walk away | Short stories and poems on Blog#42

When after six harrowing months a lifeline is given to you only to be snatched away from an unscrupulous sort, walk away.

When there isn’t a thing you can do to go back and change events,  just walk away.

When the burden weighs so heavily upon you there isn’t enough left for tears, just walk away.

When those you supported now avoid you, just walk away.

Karma and heaven may be real things but in the absence of certainty, put them out of your mind and just walk away.

When the innocents who depend on you keep looking to you, you don’t walk away.
