Fundraising for Blog#42: I can’t do this without your patronage…

August 23rd, 2015

I can’t do this without your help! In order to grow Blog#42, I need to advertise. While, in a year, so far, I’ve been lucky enough to garner over 82,000 views, I need to do more to publicize the work I do.

In an effort to see what works, I ran a small test to promote my posts on Facebook and Twitter this week. Here are my findings:

Twitter isn’t worth it with the kind of budget I have in mind. I promoted a tweet for $10 and got zero clicks.

Facebook is more worthwhile for a select number of post topics. Here are some screenshots of the two posts I promoted, for $20 and $10 respectively:

I deem my first attempt a success, given the amount of money spent. The second attempt is still ongoing, with most of the money I invested not having been spent. The third, with no boost, got very little visibility from Facebook.

Small monthly donations would be deeply appreciated. $5-10 per month, or more if you can afford it, could go a very long way in helping me promote my blog and its content, and help defray the cost of renewing domains and tools I use. I use a funding site specifically created for artists and writers. They handle all the processing. I would like to do more but am limited by the means at my disposal. Click through to Patreon.com to contribute.

Thank you for your support.

  1. Hi Rima… I tried making a recurrent PayPal payment of $2/mo, but it didn’t go through. I’m not sure what is up w/that.

    1. Oh, thank you! I will try to ask them when I get home. But they may not give me any info. Have you tried a different mode of payment? Thanks again!
