Pundits without scruples or eyeglasses

So, this well-known pundit posted about a book on President Obama that Bernie Sanders wrote a “blurb” for. Since the book takes a critical look at President Obama, the pundit asked his audience why Sanders would even write a blurb for it. The short answer is that it is customary for book authors to get as many famous people to write blurbs that are then placed on the back cover and inside the jacket of the book. That pundit was fortunate to get many people to do this when his book came out.

The book in question is Buyer’s Remorse by Bill Press.  Anyone who knows anything about Democratic politics knows that Press is a well-connected fixture on the left. Regardless, what should matter is what Sanders actually wrote:

“the case why, long after taking the oath of office, the next president of the United States must keep rallying the people who elected him or her on behalf of progressive causes. That is the only way real change will happen. Read this book.”

I guess when even the pundits are angry, what’s actually in print doesn’t matter… By the way, that same pundit did call Obama imperfect in one of his recent columns. Surely, that is far more committal than the quote above?

Sander was asked about this very thing on Meet The Press and, as is customary for him, he was ready and didn’t need glasses:
